Ever since I was in grade school, I want to see up close & personal the Mayon Volcano, also known as Mount Mayon . The “perfect cone” of this big triangular shape object that I usually see on my history books and post cards is now for reality.
My badminton peeps plan was just to go only in the island of Caramaon in Camarines Sur. They booked the trip going to Naga dated April 27 via Phitranco Bus. Due to my working sched, I was not sure that time that’s why I told them I will be the one to book for myself some other time.

Since Holy Week season, almost everyone in the metro wants to go in their perspective provinces. The April 27 trip is fully booked and I had no choice to get the April 26 trip. I’m ahead of one day on my group trip.
Going to Bicol will take me 9-10 hrs. It is about more than 500 kilometers away from Manila. Mayon Volcano is rising 2,462 metres (8,077 ft) from the shores of the Gulf of Albay about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) away. The volcano is geographically shared by the cities and municipalities of Legazpi City, Camalig, Daraga, Guinobatan, Ligao City, Malilipot, Santo Domingo and Tabaco City.
There are many ways to reach Bicol. You can take flights from Manila to Legaspi City via Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific and Airphil Express. It is approximately one hour flight.
Another option is to charter bus from Manila to Sorsogon or Legazpi City via Philtranco, Raymond, Superlines, Cagsawa Tours, Isarog Line and others. It is approximately 9-10 hours drive.
You can also take Philippine National Railways with their Bicol Express trip but unfortunately the trip going to Naga/Legazpi is stop for the mean time.
Check out soon on my next blog about my Caramoan Adventure. You would definitely know why Survivor chose the island to be the setting of their show....Thanks for reading..
Mayon Volcano is the main landmark of Albay Province. The cone is considered to be the world's most perfectly-formed volcano. It is also the most active volcano in the Philippines having erupted over 48 times in the past 400 years.
On the above photo, the church tower is what remains of the Cagsawa Church, which was buried by the 1814 eruption of Mayon Volcano. This is the best place to take photograph with panoramic view of the volcano.
I'm so dark on the above photo because of my last beach adventure in Aquaria in Calatagan Batangas. I really enjoyed the sea and the sun that's why I got this skin color. Anyway that's ok.. tan is is the color of summer. Am I right? lolz
What I'm wearing on this Mayon Volcano Adventure is a no brand yellow aztec print shirt, blue maong pants from Lee, cool watch, artistic cap & metal necklace from SM Accessories and shoes from Boxfresh.
If you want more adventure, experience the thrill of riding on All-Terrain-Vehicle (ATV) towards to the lava wall of Mayon Volcano. For 3 hrs, the charge is Php 1500- Php 1800.
There are lots of stores nearby the Casagwa Ruins selling "pasalubong" which is more cheaper compare in the terminal specially the key chains.
Don’t forget also to visit Lignon Hill, Japanese Tunnel, Embarcadero, Kapuntukan Hill, Provincial Capitol, Tiwi hot springs, Hayop-Hayopan of Camalig, beaches of Bacacay, Rapu-Rapu and San Miguel, Misibis Bay and others.I'm so dark on the above photo because of my last beach adventure in Aquaria in Calatagan Batangas.
